At a women's conference in Miami Thursday, someone in the audience called out "You look beautiful!" as Clinton took the stage.

Wide-eyed and beaming at the compliment, she replied, "Ohhhhhh, wow! I think it's a grandmother glow. I'm very new at it, but I highly recommend it."

As for baby Charlotte Clinton's first grandchild, who was born Sept. 26 to daughter Chelsea Clinton and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky the proud grandma could only do what grandmas do: brag.

Charlotte is "doing great," said Clinton. "She is the most perfect, most beautiful, smartest 5-day-old you will ever meet."

At the close of her speech about the empowerment of women and girls worldwide, one of Clinton's passion projects with Chelsea, the former first lady and U.S. senator was asked about the advice she'll someday give Charlotte.

"One is to do the very best you can at everything you do but learn from your mistakes and your failures." Clinton, 66, told the crowd. "Second, be kind. Try to find a time for kindness every single day."

Hillary Clinton to stump for Tom Wolf in Philadelphia

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Wolf is bringing in some political star-power as his campaign enters the home stretch.

He'll be joined by former Secretary of State and likely 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for a "Women for Wolf" event in Philadelphia on Thursday evening.

The event is scheduled for the day after Wolf and Republican Gov. Tom Corbett face off in their third and final debate, which will be held in Pittsburgh.

Pennsylvania is among several states where the former first lady is expected to be pitching in for Democratic gubernatorial contenders. She's also heading to Illinois and Massachusetts, and she hosted fundraiser in Florida this week, according to Politico.

Clinton, who has childhood ties to Scranton, remains popular in the commonwealth. A June poll from Quinnipiac University showed her leading against possible Republican presidential candidates.

Tickets for the Wolf event, which will be held at the National Constitution Center, will be available from Saturday through Wednesday at the Wolf campaign's field offices in Philadelphia, Norristown, Doylestown, West Chester and Media. Doors will open Thursday at 5 p.m.

Polls have shown Wolf with a double-digit lead over Corbett as the Nov. 4 election approaches.

Clinton will appear in at least eight states on behalf of gubernatorial and congressional candidates.

Hillary Clinton's 2014 campaign calendar gets booked

By Dan Merica and Terence Burlij, CNN

updated 1:59 PM EDT, Fri October 3, 2014

STORY HIGHLIGHTS

Washington (CNN) -- Hillary Clinton's midterm schedule -- which until now has been marked just by a handful of closed fundraisers and events -- is about to fill up with commitments to Democrats across the country.

Democratic sources familiar with the Clinton campaign plan say the former Secretary of State will help raise money and excitement for a number of vulnerable Democrats in the month before voters go to the polls in November. The states Clinton will campaign are also markedly important states in presidential races -- namely Iowa, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania -- a fact that further raises the specter of Clinton running for president in 2016.

Clinton will headline her first public campaign rally next Thursday, when she travels to Philadelphia to stump for Tom Wolf, Pennsylvania Democratic gubernatorial nominee. The event is focused specifically on women supporting Wolf, a voting bloc that Democratic operatives hope Clinton can help turnout in November.

"Secretary Clinton is the right person at the right time for Democrats who are focused on turning out the vote and persuading undecided voters, particularly women, in the remaining days of the election," said Guy Cecil, the director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Clinton will also headline events and fundraisers for Democratic senate candidates in Kentucky, Iowa, New Hampshire, Georgia, North Carolina and Colorado, according to a Democratic source.

For months Clinton aides have said the former secretary of state will be active in the midterms and these newest additions, which were first reported by Politico, appear to be proof of that.

"Hillary knows firsthand the importance of keeping our majority in the Senate and I couldn't be happier that she is helping us turn out the Democratic vote," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said.

Anatomy of a Hillary Clinton trip: Stump, sell, get paid

STORY HIGHLIGHTS

MIAMI (CNN) -- Hillary Clinton covered all her bases in Miami on Thursday: She padded her wallet with a paid speech, pitched her memoir with a book signing and fundraised for a Democrat in a critical presidential state.

This is becoming a familiar formula for Clinton. In October alone Clinton has four trips planned -- to Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas and San Francisco -- where she will combine a paid speech with either a book event or a fundraiser for a Democratic candidate or group.

The strategy is part logistical, part practical for Clinton. But as she considers a presidential run in 2016, it is also calculated. Campaigning for Democrats in 2014 allows her to curry favor with her party ahead of 2016, while selling her book and speaking to paid gigs lets her raise her profile (not that it is needed) and toy with talking points in front of supportive audiences.

Clinton ended her day Thursday in Florida at the sprawling Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables at a fundraiser for Charlie Crist, Florida's Republican-turned-independent-turned-Democratic candidate for governor.

The event was closed to the press, but according to multiple sources in the room, Clinton both touted Crist as the right choice for governor and spoke about bigger picture issues like the a woman's right to choose, growing the middle class and the importance of the space program to Florida.

The audience responded well to Clinton's fundraising calls, according to those in the room, and a Crist campaign spokesman told CNN that the event raised roughly $1 million for the Democrat's effort. The most expensive table at the event cost $50,000.

Clinton also said, according to one source, that she believed in "redemption and second chances," a remark that was seen as an acknowledgment of Crist's past as a Republican who called on Bill Clinton to resign the presidency during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

The former Secretary of State started her day, however, at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, a white washed, swanky establishment were the Clinton was paid to appear before 1,200 people at the Commercial Real Estate Women Network Convention.

The event was announced in May, long before her appearance with Crist was announced last month.
