Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton trolled President Trump after a federal appeals court unanimously ruled Thursday against reinstating his controversial immigration ban.

The three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decided to keep in place the temporary restraining order that stopped Trump's ban, which suspended immigration from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen for 90 days. It halted the country's refugee resettlement program for 120 days and banned Syrian refugees from the U.S. indefinitely.

"We hold that the government has not shown a likelihood of success on the merits of its appeal, nor has it shown that failure to enter a stay would cause irreparable injury, and we therefore deny its emergency motion for a stay," the court wrote.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CALIF. Hillary Clinton may have lost her presidential bid, but she has not stopped being a present and vocal advocate for women and girls.

In a new video, which opened the MAKERS Conferencein Rancho Palos Verdes, California on Monday night, Clinton told a room full of women: Despite all the challenges we face, I remain convinced that, yes, the future is female.

The former secretary of state went on to praise the Womens Marchas proof of that future, speaking about the power the D.C. march and its sister marches had to spur millions of people many of whom had never marched before to action.

Just look at the amazing energy we saw last month as women organized a march that galvanized millions of people all over our country and across the world, Clinton said. We need strong women to step up and speak out. We need you to dare greatly and lead boldly. So please, set an example for every woman and girl out there whos worried about what the future holds and wonders whether our rights opportunities and values will endure.

Clinton wrapped up her video with a reminder to all women: Remember, you are the heroes and history makers, the glass ceiling breakers of the future.

"Nevertheless, she persisted" is basically the story of Hillary Clinton's life. And now that it's the progressive resistance's new favorite slogan, Clinton herself has endorsed the message.

In a viral tweet Wednesday afternoon, Clinton quoted those powerful words, which Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell used on Tuesday to rebuke Elizabeth Warren. The Massachusetts senator was speaking out against Jeff Sessions, President Donald Trump's pick for attorney general, on the Senate floor when McConnell invoked a rarely used rule to silence her.

"She was warned. She was given an explanation," McConnell said. "Nevertheless, she persisted.

Overnight, those last three words became the left's new rallying cry. It didn't take long for Clinton to get in on the action.

Clinton has been careful with how she's chosen to criticize Trump's agenda. In her concession speech, she urged her supporters to give him a "chance to lead," and attended his inauguration with her husband, former President Bill Clinton. Though she tweeted implicitly about the president's controversial executive order saying "this is not who we are" her latest tweet capitalizes on the fresh momentum of the resistance to Trump.

One day late last month, she went to the mailbox again and collected more letters, one of which bore a New York address. Thinking it was just another letter like the others, she absent-mindedly opened it. Then she saw the letterhead: Hillary Rodham Clinton.

While I know that we are disappointed and heartbroken by the outcome of the election, I am heartened to know that the experience of this campaign has been empowering for you, the letter read. Never forget that you are powerful and valuable, and that one person can make a difference.

Clinton has offered words of encouragement via Twitter to her supporters and on Monday recordeda surprise video for a conference focusing on womens leadership, but otherwise has kept a fairly low profile since her November loss.

Barr took the letter into a hardware store she manages, framed the photo, and hungit in her house, someplace where I can look at it every morning to give me the inspiration I need to keep on fighting for what I feel is right, she said. Its only one of many ways in which she says the election has emboldened her. She has joined the League of Womens Voters, and, for the first time on Monday night,attended a meeting for the Lycoming County Progressives.

She went by herself.

It was pretty scary at first, she said. But she soon felt at ease.

We just talked about different issues and trying to see what we can do, she said. Its nice to talk to people with the same ideas that I have.

Pop star Katy Perrys forthcoming foray into footwear will honor, among others, the former secretary of state, People magazinereported Wednesday.

Launching on Feb. 16, Katy Perry Collections will also include a sparkly multicolored sneaker designed in honor of the Girls creator and actress Lena Dunham.

The Hillary, a $139 shoe that appears to be rose gold in color, features a clear heel that contains stars adding a a pep in her step the singer says.

Ive been courting this idea for several years, Ms. Perry, who campaigned for Mrs. Clinton and performed at the Democratic convention in 2016, told People magazine. For half my career, people have been asking me when Im getting into fashion. Its always been simmering under the surface, but I wanted to do it the right way and be the real creative contributor. This is something that Ive created from the bottom up.

Ms. Perry dedicated the $129 Lena sneaker to Ms. Dunham, the coolest tomboy she knows who embraces everything and she isnt afraid to be who she is, People reported.
