SAN DIEGO Hillary Clinton cancelled her upcoming visit to San Diego in the midst of a planned protest.
Clinton will be the keynote speaker for the 17th Annual Western Healthcare Leadership Academy on April 11. She was originally going to deliver the speech in person, but will not be seen by satellite.
The three day event will be being held at the San Diego Convention Center with 700 people expected to attend.
Jan Iverson created an organization called The Difference Matters to protest Mrs. Clintons quest for the presidency, because of her role in Benghazi.
She is not welcome here in San Diego by so many of us. We dont want her here, said protest organizer Iverson.
Pat Smith lost her son Sean Smith during an attack in Benghazi and plans to be at the center of the protest.
Working with her is gratifying and it spurts on what we are doing, Iverson said.
Dr. Ted Mazer believes people should put politics aside because Clinton is well versed on the hottest topic at the conference.
The protest has nothing to do with us, said Dr. Mazer. We are trying to talk about where we are and where we are going in medicine. Who is better to talk about that than someone with a history of about 20 years or more now dealing with health care reform.
Mazer also said the participation is exceptional for this years event.

Just after midnight this morning on April Fools' Day, former President Bill Clinton tweeted a picture of himself parodying the famous "Texts from Hillary" photo-turned Internet meme of Hillary Clinton texting when she was secretary of state.
Adding to the fun, the former president also jokingly added "meme appropriator" to the tail-end of his 160-character Twitter bio.
Hillary Clinton played along with her husband's spoof as well.
Later Tuesday afternoon she re-tweeted Bill Clinton's photo, but added in her own tongue-in-cheek remark.
"Well, that's what happened to my iPad!" she quipped.
Since then, both of the Clintons have come to embrace social media.
In Hillary Clinton's very first tweet last year, she joked about the "Texts from Hillary" meme. "Thanks for the inspiration @ASmith83 & @Sllambe - I'll take it from here #tweetsfromHillary," she tweeted, referencing the founders of the tumblr blog.
Bill Clinton tweeted out a February Presidents Day greeting, and in the process even ribbed President George W. Bush for his absence on the social media site using the hashtag "#HowAreYouNotOnTwitter?"
