International conference on free/open source Linux audio and multimedia software from April 9-12, 2015, in Mainz; free online registration
Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) plays host to the 2015 Linux Audio Conference (LAC) from April 9-12, 2015, which brings together GNU/Linux free/libre software users and developers. This year's conference is organized by Dr. Albert Grf and his team of the Computer Music Research Group at the Institute of Art History and Musicology at Mainz University in cooperation with the Mainz School of Music. The Linux Audio Conference is the largest international conference on free / open source software for music, sound, and other media with GNU/Linux as the main platform. It brings together musicians, composers, sound artists, software developers, researchers, and engineers working with GNU/Linux as an open, stable, professional platform for audio and media research and music production. In addition to lectures, paper presentations, discussions and workshops, LAC 2015 will also offer a variety of concerts as well as the traditional Linux Sound Night - on Saturday, 11 April 2015, in Mainz. Registration and admittance to the LAC 2015 is free but anyone interested to attend needs to register at http://lac.linuxaudio.org/2015/.
