DALLAS, June 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --As the majority of states implement online exams for assessment of Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Texas Instruments (TI) is announcing a new program to make its ExamCalc software available to assessment providers for inclusion in states' selected CCSS summative assessments. ExamCalc software provides states with online versions of the TI-84 Plus graphing, TI-30XS MultiView scientific and TI-108 elementary calculators, for use during CCSS online exams.
To remove cost barriers, TI's ExamCalc software is offered under a commercial license and maintenance agreement without commercial license fees.
Based on research and development with educator input, ExamCalc software is designed to meet expected platform requirements of state education offices and CCSS Consortia and provides graphing, scientific and elementary calculator tools with the required features for assessment of Common Core Mathematical Standards.

New York Times Co. will limit the number of free stories that people can read through its mobile software to three articles per day, part of its effort to coax more readers into signing up for online subscriptions.
Beginning on June 27, any mobile user of New York Times applications can view three stories in all sections, blogs and slideshows, the company said today in a statement. Previously, nonsubscribers could read all articles in the Top News section, though they couldnt get any material from other areas.
Times Co., facing an industrywide advertising slump, is relying more heavily on subscription fees. Last year, revenue from subscriptions surpassed ad sales -- turning the typical business model for newspaper publishers on its head.
Theyre trying to make the online product more valuable, said Edward Atorino, an analyst at Benchmark Co. in New York. Any step to get more digital subscribers is important because thats the way the industrys going as print circulation is going down.
