Democracy Now! U.S. and World News Headlines for Tuesday, May 6 - Video
Video will begin in 5 seconds.
ABC's Q&A host Tony Jones and Education Minister Christopher Pyne were left helpless as a number of students raucously disrupted Monday evening's show protesting about higher education cuts.
The tut tutting can be heard around the land.
Something truly sacrilegious occured on our television screens last night: Q&A was interrupted by some uni kids.
Q and A host Tony Jones.
Early in the program, following questions from students about proposals to deregulate Australian universities and increase fees, a posse of youths popped up in their places.

Chanting "no cuts, no fees, no corporate universities," and waggling a banner that called for "more brains, not warplanes," the group would not respond to host Tony Jones' pleas to pipe down.
So Q&A was forced to cut to an old episode that featured the soothing sounds of a performance by singer Katie Noonan.
And then, after this temporary glitch, the show returned to normal.
