Women’s wrongs: hypergamy, part 1 of 2 – Video

Women #39;s wrongs: hypergamy, part 1 of 2
AVFM radio recently ran a discussion on hypergamy, inspired by recent talk in the men #39;s rights movement about whether hypergamy should be discussed in the first place. I found that, unsurprisingly, the participants of the radio discussion were reluctant to address the moral aspects of hypergamy or highlight the evil nature of the women who manifest it. Instead, much of the discussion covered the familiar ground of divorce fraud, the role of the state as a provider-husband and other issues well known in the men #39;s rights community. I made this duo of videos because I feel there is much more to discuss about the issue - indeed, even after almost two hours of talking, I feel that I had not gone into nearly enough detail on most of the points I addressed and that my brief presentation ignored many aspects of the problem. The gist of all this is: Women have a problem. Its name is hypergamy. It makes women treat vulnerable men like dirt while hypocritically demanding protection from powerful men. Women need to fix this problem; because when unrestrained, hypergamy perpetuates the Dark Triad traits in the gene pool and forces men into a rat race that artificially creates losers out of some of them, just because women want it to be this way. Part 1 (in which I babble and repeat myself a lot - apologies) talks about the definition and the social implications of hypergamy; part 2 discusses its injustice against good men ("nice guys"), the censorship used to protect it and the ...From:spiritanvilViews:2 0ratingsTime:46:14More inNonprofits Activism

Why Pussy Riot Matters – Video

Why Pussy Riot Matters
Why Pussy Riot Matters Pussy Riot, a balaclava-clad anonymous punk rock art collective inspired in part by the Riot grrrl movement of the 1990s, has captivated artists, media and the public as has no other Russian human rights case in recent memory. Artists from Yoko Ono to Bjork have rallied to their side after members of the group were charged with "hooliganism" and later sentenced to two years in a correctional labor colony for their guerrilla art performance in the Temple of Christ the Savior in Moscow. This judgment - for a 45-second unplugged performance mostly consisting of chanting and dancing in front of the church #39;s altar - has reignited international concerns about freedom of expression and state censorship. But what else does this case tell us about the possible future for DIY feminist organizing and activism? How do emerging open technologies enable or inhibit musical activist movements and international solidarity? What are the biggest challenges to free expression in the US and abroad? It may take some time to figure out what Pussy Riot means in the world #39;s cultural context, but they have reminded us that artists #39; greatest allies and advocates may be each other.
