Twilight Zone Scary Stories
Twilight Zone Scary Stories In the first half of the program, writer Marc Zicree and Carol Serling, wife of the late Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling, discussed Rod #39;s life and work, and the legacy of his popular anthology series. Carol said Twilight Zone was an escape for Rod, a place where he was free to do or say what he wanted without fear of the censorship prevalent in that era. According to Carol, Rod believed television was not only a vehicle for entertainment, but should be used to educate and make statements as well. The show was a labor of love for Rod, she continued, noting that the first three seasons of the show were the best. Carol also mentioned her ongoing work managing Rod #39;s literary estate. Zicree, who grew up watching Twilight Zone in syndication, said the series continues to have as much validity now as it did when it first aired. It still speaks to children and adults, and to people from all cultures, he added. Zicree referenced a couple of Twilight Zone episodes, including "Eye of the Beholder" and "The Purple Testament", and commented on the show #39;s influence on contemporary television and film. Zicree also announced his upcoming 12/10/10 screening of the documentary film The Table and 12/12/10 The Twilight Zone Companion book signing (event details), as well as his latest spec script which features Rod Serling as a character on the AMC series Mad MenFrom:DisclosureBubbleViews:0 1ratingsTime:02:28:15More inEntertainment

Alesh: Reveil- The Awakening (Official Video)
Out of the chaos and instability that has dominated the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) over the past decade comes the latest single from Congolese hip-hop artist Alesh, entitled #39;Reveil, #39; or #39;the Awakening #39;. The song presents a vivid and complex picture of the Congolese experience at this critical juncture in the country #39;s history. A combination of frustration and hope, Alesh #39;s poignant lyrics reflect how, in many ways, both Congolese leaders and citizens have failed their country. In a country with strict censorship, it is rare to hear such an honest, introspective, and brave account of the Congolese struggle. Nomadic Wax, a US based independent media production company has been working with African and global hip-hop political movements for a decade, were honored to have the opportunity to produce a music video for the song. The video was filmed throughout the DRC, including Kinshasa, Bukavu, Kikwit. However, the core of the music video was filmed in Baniele, an illegal squatter settlement on the outskirts of Kinshasa. Baniele was built on land that is in a constant state of erosion and where a single electrical wire and a single well supports the entire neighborhood of thousands. Despite the seriousness of the political situation in the DRC, few people outside of the country have a grasp on the issues faced by the Congolese today. "Congolese as well as the rest of the world needs to see what is happening here and why" says Chirwisa, "I believe that music has the ...From:Nomadic WaxViews:0 0ratingsTime:04:44More inMusic
