Uber’s board to receive Eric Holder report on Wednesday – Axios

Eric Trump's annual charity golf tournament, which has raised more than $11 million for St Jude's Children's Hospital, generated more than $1 million in revenue for the Trump organization, Forbes reported Tuesday.

Despite Eric Trump repeatedly claiming he was able to use Trump National Golf Club in Westchester County, N.Y. for free, his charity was actually billed amounts that golf experts told Forbes far exceeded what would be normal for a one-day tournament. Two sources with direct knowledge told Forbes it was Donald Trump who insisted his son's charity be billed.

Forbes also reports that the Donald J. Trump Foundation "apparently used the Eric Trump Foundation to funnel $100,000 in donations into revenue for the Trump Organization."

Why it matters: President Trump's foundation has faced previous accusations of self-dealing, and questions have repeatedly been raised over the murky relationship between it and his for-profit business. The Washington Post's David Fahrentold is back on the case after today's story.

Ralph Northam Falsely Claims to Eric Holder That He Was 2nd Virginia Elected, After Tim Kaine, to Endorse Barack … – Blue Virginia (press release)…

Seriously???

In a sign of how potent a force Mr. Obama remains with African-Americans, and the degree to which he could have upended the race, Mr. Northam telephoned former Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to ensure the former presidents neutrality, according to three Democrats briefed on the call who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Acknowledging the conversation, Mr. Northam said he told Mr. Holder, a close friend of the former president, that he had been the second elected official in Virginia (after then-Gov. Tim Kaine) to endorse Mr. Obama in the run-up to the 2008 primary.

I just reminded Attorney General Holder that I had been very loyal, as has my wife, too, to President Obama, Mr. Northam said. That message got back to him.

OK, that is false in just about every way.

Simply astounding that Ralph Northam would claim this

Uber to share some findings of harassment probe Tuesday: source – Reuters

SAN FRANCISCO Uber Technologies Inc [UBER.UL] will tell employees on Tuesday about changes it will make after a probe into sexual harassment allegations by a former engineer at the ride services company, a person familiar with the matter said.

A broader report by former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on harassment and Uber corporate culture will be shared with workers next week - a much anticipated review of a company beset by a series of embarrassments over the performance of its CEO, its work environment and its treatment of drivers, all of which have hurt Uber's reputation.

In February, Susan Fowler, a female former engineer at Uber, said in a blog post that managers and human resources officers at the company had not punished her manager after she reported his unwanted sexual advances, and even threatened her with a poor performance review.

Law firm Perkins Coie investigated Fowlers claims and made recommendations, some or all of which will be adopted by the company, the source said on the condition of anonymity, while declining to give further details.

A lawyer for Fowler did not immediately respond to a request for comment. An Uber spokesman noted that Uber holds a staff meeting every Tuesday and declined to say what would be discussed this week.

The ride-hailing firm hired Holder and Tammy Albarran, who are partners at the law firm Covington & Burling, to conduct a broader review of sexual harassment as well as general questions about diversity and inclusion.

The Holder report has been shared with members of the Uber board of directors, the company spokesman said.

The results of the Holder probe had been expected to be shared with employees this week, but the plan has been postponed until next week, the person said. News site Axios earlier reported that Uber had delayed plans to disclose results of the Holder probe.

Chief Executive Travis Kalanick has called the allegations by Fowler "abhorrent and against everything Uber stands for and believes in". After a series of issues, including a video of him berating an Uber driver, he said he needed leadership help.

On Monday the company said it had hired Harvard Business School professor Frances Frei as senior vice president of Leadership and Strategy, reporting to Kalanick. The role includes "organizational transformation" and leadership, Uber wrote in a post.

Russian security software maker Kaspersky Lab has filed antitrust complaints against Microsoft with the European Commission and the German federal cartel office, it said in a statement on Tuesday.

Amazon.com Inc said on Tuesday it would offer a discount on its popular Prime subscription service for shoppers who receive U.S. government aid, taking aim at a key customer base for rival Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
