Wikipedia Entry on Obstruction of Justice Listed Trump – PJ Media – PJ Media

During the James Comey hearing Thursday, someone edited the Wikipedia entry for "obstruction of justice" to list President Donald Trump as one of many "notable examples." Trump has not been convicted of obstruction, and Comey's testimony did not suggest he should be. Worse, the anonymous editor altered the entry from a congressional IP address.

"Obstruction of justice Wikipedia article edited anonymously from US House of Representatives," tweeted congress-edits, a bot account that reports on anonymous Wikipedia edits made from IP addresses in the U.S. Congress. The edits can be viewed at this link.

Democrats and the liberal media argue that Trump, in firing former FBI Director Comey, obstructed justice by attempting to prevent an FBI investigation into Michael Flynn. A reporter forThe New York Times, Adam Liptak, found examples of people being convicted of obstruction of justice for statements of hope.

But when Comey was asked point-blank if Trump asked him to stop the investigation, the former FBI director said, "Not to my understanding, no."

Former U.S. attorney Matthew Whitaker told CNN, "There is no criminal case to be made on an obstruction of justice."

"We have the star witness that testified, and quite frankly, his story doesn't rise to the level of intent necessary on behalf of the president to even substantiate a criminal case," Whitaker explained.

Indeed, liberals face a difficult situation. If Trump is guilty of obstructing justice for his statements and actions toward Comey, it is arguable that former Attorney General Loretta Lynch is also guilty. During his testimony Thursday, Comey explained that Lynch told him only to refer to the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton as a "matter." He further revealed that he found this "concerning" and a "conflict of interest."

At the end of the day, only a court or Congress in the case of the president can convict a citizenof obstruction of justice, and no such conviction has been made in the case of President Trump.

The Wikipedia entry has since been re-edited to omit Trump from the "notable examples" of obstruction. But that does not change that someone likely a staffer in the U.S. House of Representatives deliberately altered an Internet record to slander the president, in the absence of a conviction.

This only confirms once again that Trump's enemies and perhaps especially those in government are willing to twist the truth totarnish the president's reputation. At least in this case, the fabrication was short-lived.

Apple reportedly bans Pepe the Frog game from App Store – CNET

Pepe the Frog is reportedly banned from the Apple App Store.

It looks like Pepe the Frog is not welcome on the Apple App Store.

The meme has become a symbol for the so-called alt-right, a white nationalist movement, and Appleconsiders images of the frog examples of "objectionable content," according to a report Friday by Motherboard.

Apple didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

A Redddit user named MrSnrhms on Thursday posted a screenshot of a response from a member of Apple's App Review Board, saying that the app violated Apple's guidelines. The app is a game called Pepe Scream, which looks similar to the game Flappy Bird.

Pepe was co-opted to become a symbol of white nationalism sometime in 2015. Last fall, the meme was designated a hate symbol by the Anti-Defamation League. In March, Pepe's creator Matt Furie "killed" off the character in a comic strip.

As of this writing, Pepe Scream is available on Google's Play Store. The search giant didn't immediately respond to a request for comment about the app.

Coulter: ‘Outrageous’ That Comey Didn’t Publicly Clear Trump – Fox News Insider

Ann Coulter joined Tucker Carlson tonight to react to former FBI Director James Comey's testimony before a Senate panel.

Coulter said the hearing was more evidence that there's absolutely nothing to the allegations about collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

During his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, Comey confirmed that Trump did not ask him to stop the FBI's investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Comey also said that Trump himself was not under investigation.

"It's all a hoax," Tucker said. "This is not about Russia or our national security or hacking our election. It's all a lie."

Coulter agreed, saying it's "outrageous" for Comey to wait until he was under oath to formally state that Trump himself was never the focus of an FBI investigation.

"It's the most insane thing I've ever heard," Coulter said.

She added that the only documented collusion between Russia and Americans during the election was related to the defamatory Trump dossier.

"Whatever happened to that?" Coulter said. "That was a Russian-produced dossier, used by, first, Never Trumpers, then the Hillary Clinton campaign, then the FBI, and broadcast hysterically by CNN. That was a Russian-produced dossier. That is the only evidence we have of Russia trying to collude."

Warning of US desertion, EU chief calls for European defense – Reuters

PRAGUE Europe's chief executive appealed to EU governments on Friday to forge a military alliance to defend the bloc and enhance its power abroad, warning that the United States was no longer prepared to do it for them.

Two days after unveiling a multi-billion euro plan to help fund European defense research, Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said it was time to integrate militaries and defense industries, seizing on the strong backing from France's new president and Britain's decision to leave the bloc.

"I see the tide turning," Juncker told a conference in Prague, citing growing support in EU capitals for military cooperation, notably from French President Emmanuel Macron.

"The call I make today is not only in favor of a Europe of defense it is a call in defense of Europe," he said.

Although the European Union has more than a dozen military missions abroad, the world's biggest trading bloc has never been able to match its economic might with broad defensive power, preferring to rely on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Britain had long blocked EU defense integration, fearing a European army that would challenge national sovereignty. NATO broadly supports EU defense integration, as 22 EU states are members of the U.S.-led alliance.

Chiding the bloc for decades of failed attempts to work together on defense since the 1950s, Juncker said that even before the election of President Donald Trump, the United States considered it was paying too much for wealthy Europe's security.

With Trump, who has sharply criticized European states for not spending enough on defense and has refused to explicitly support NATO, the reality was more stark, he said.

"NATO can no longer be used as a convenient alibi to argue against greater European efforts," Juncker said. He said the United States is "no longer interested in guaranteeing Europe's security in our place."

The economically powerful EU has long been able to boast of a "soft power" with recent diplomatic successes including its role in brokering the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

But the EU's inability to help bring peace to Syria or significantly influence events abroad, from Turkey to the Middle East, meant that soft power was not enough, Juncker said.

"We have no other choice than to defend our own interests in the Middle East, in climate change, in our trade agreements."

EU leaders will discuss broad European defense plans, first put forward by France and Germany following Britain's EU referendum a year ago, at a summit on June 22-23 in Brussels.

France, Germany and Italy want ways to pay for common military missions abroad, to be able to use EU battlegroups for the first time and for industries to collaborate and develop weapons and helicopters that can be used by all EU armies.

EU states jealously protect their defense contractors, meaning the bloc has developed 178 different weapons systems, compared to 30 in the United States.

"Absurdly, there are more helicopter types then there are governments to buy them," Juncker said.

BRASILIA Brazil's top electoral court dismissed a case on Friday that threatened to unseat President Michel Temer for alleged illegal campaign funding in the 2014 election, when he was the running mate of impeached President Dilma Rousseff.

SEOUL/WASHINGTON South Korea does not aim to change its agreement on the deployment of a U.S. anti-missile system to protect against North Korea, in spite of a decision to delay its full installation, Seoul's top national security adviser said on Friday.
