3 Tips To Reinvigorate Your Brand’s Social Media Marketing Efforts – Business 2 Community

Its a more common problem than you think, and it probably affects more brands than you think too. Its that awful situation where a brand literally gives up on social media. The ROI that their agency promised them has not materialized.

Their social accounts are essentially dead ducks now. And their understanding of social has fallen apart. They just dont get it, and resign themselves to the fate of trying more conventional methods of marketing and advertising.

Its more common with small businesses, where budgets are tight and its tempting for a business to take a shot at building up a base of fans and followers. That shot usually revolves around one payment to an agency, or even just asking one of the employees to manage the Facebook page. None of this works, so giving up is the only way to go.

We dont agree with that kind of thinking. And we have pulled together a couple of measures that can get you back in the social media game sharpish. The methods dont do anything other than reignite the social media presence you have.

They give that presence a little vigour and a little purpose. But like all things on social, these ideas are only as good as the evidence they bring. So make sure that if youre trying the below out, that you always test their effectiveness with solid metrics.

Whatever your industry, there is sure to be another angle that you can work with. And that angle may well serve to be the boost that your brand needs on social. For example, if you make paint for cars, you can also create social media content around driving cars. Or how to get the best tires and where from.

There are hundreds of little areas in which you can stretch out and bring forward an expert eye on some concepts. Dont forget that your audience is there because of your main product first of all. But if you start posting about stuff that is connected to that main product, you are showing that you have a love for the whole industry, and youre prepared to get that out there.

It is actually rather fascinating to see what brands could do with this. And the more left of center content you come up with the better. In fact, to add even more fun to it for both you and your customers, just focus on spreading happiness through seemingly unconnected content. It doesnt have to be about what you do.

Try it with your industry. Find something that your competitors arent talking about and be brave. Offer up a new slant on things and we can pretty much guarantee that your brand will be noticed on social. Dont go overboard, but remember that the brand that is different is the brand that makes a splash.

Just be different to everyone else and talk about stuff they arent talking about.

Every marketer knows what this is all about. But doing it on social is a slightly different kettle of fish. If youve struggled to gain engagement and you know you have been working on solid calls-to-action, its not the calls that are the problem. Its what is around them.

Use calls to action, but make what is surrounding them on the screen as unobtrusive as possible. This means brevity when it comes to text, and professional but low-key images around the call. This doesnt take a long time to get right, and when you have finally managed to ensure that a bunch of your posts feature calls to action that dont have a lot of distractions going on around them, you will get the knack if it.

Webcast, June 21st: 5 Keys to Operational Excellence

With calls to action, try to make sure they are given top priority for the customer. They are what the customer has to see, ultimately. So focus on bringing them more to the front. The pretty graphics can stay, just have less of them. And because you are on social, the message has to be short, with a killer call to action to round it all off. Remove distractions, and push your real message.

In other words, less is most definitely more when it comes to calls to action on social media.

But not just video, live video. This is one of those areas that will become even bigger within the next few years. Shooting and streaming live video is exciting, its fun and its also very effective.

The straight-up video work that a brand can do is not stale or old, but it is even more effective as a medium when its in the moment. This is because it feels genuine. Being genuine is one of the most important qualities a brand can have right now.

One of the very best ways to get this done is to hold a question and answer session with your audience. Being there and being live with the answers to questions from an audience shows that you want to help. It also shows you have knowledge and experience. This of course builds trust between your brand and the audience.

The way to make this part of your marketing toolkit is to get started. The excitement that comes with your first couple of live video sessions is more than enough to make the process and the work worthwhile.

It will be shaky at first, of course. You will be nervous and there will be mistakes. But getting used to the work is part of the fun. And throwing up a raw, in the moment video on Facebook Live makes the brand current, real and trustworthy.

The three areas in this post are not new to social media. But they are all valuable. They require a certain approach. If you commit to this kind of work and make it part of what you do, you will be able to reinvigorate your social media marketing. And this will give you the results you want. It just requires work.

Its understandable if a small business feels that the challenges in creating a presence on social media are too great. But rebooting things in the way outlined in this post does bring quick results. Expand the content topics, tighten up your calls to action and shoot as much live video as you possibly can. And then wait for those results to come in.

[Video] Erdogan encourages unity over division amidst #GCCCrisis in Ramadan – Islam21c

President Recep Tayyip Erdoan made remarkable statements during an Iftar gathering among Justice and Development Party (AK Party) members in the Turkish capital Ankara. He said;

I want to clearly say that we disapprove of the sanctions on Qatar speaking against the move by Qatars gulf neighbours which had cut diplomatic ties and placed sanctions on Qatar by blocking its land border, aviation and maritime routes.

Turkey and Erdogan a close ally of the gulf states is known to take much care into the security and stability of the region, as such he said;

These developments, coming at a time when we need solidarity and cooperation more than ever, are no good for any country in the region.

He called on the ruling AK Party members to provide support on the path of justice. Erdogan known for His beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran quoted verse 10 of Surah Hujurat to encourage unity over division.

The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion). So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allah, that you may receive mercy.

Erdogan pleaded with humanity to the Muslim world and otherwise;

We should not allow new pains to be felt or for the people of the region to feel a heavy burden

In a measured criticism towards the key players in the region who have laid an embargo on the small country, he warned;

Dont be cruel to the oppressed, or you will be punished slowly. Referring to the 249th verse of Surah Baqarah:

How many a small company has overcome a large company by permission of Allah. And Allah is with the patient.

Qatar is a small country. You cant say; If you do this, then we will do this. In an effort to encourage mercy towards the charitable nation.

Erdogan, Turkey, AK Party and Qatar are known for their concerns towards the Palestinian cause, Syrian plight and many other issues concerning the wider Muslim community across the globe.

Since this speech, AK Party in the Turkish Parliament swiftly ratified a bill to allow Turkish troops to be deployed in Qatar. Turkey and Qatar insist that this deployment is for the regional security and stability of the region, not an escalation towards the nations that have placed the embargo on Qatar. Turkey and Qatar have insisted on dialogue, Kuwait another state in the Gulf Co-operation Council has also called for dialogue to resolve this crisis.

Qatar and Saudi Foreign Ministers have insisted that this issue can only be resolved in a GCC setup.

Despite this speech and swift ratification of deployment of Turkish troops in Qatar, Turkey maintains the current presidency of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) in which; Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Turkey among other Muslim countries are members. A Turkish Airport Operator, TAV has recently inked a deal to operate three Saudi Airports, asserting Turkeys stance as a mediator.

Erdogan has asked for this dispute to be resolved by the end of Ramdan. We ask Allah (Jalla Jalaluhu) to bring about unity, brotherliness, stability, security and victory to the Ummah of Muhammadh (Sall Allahu Alyhi Wa Sallam) in a way that pleases Allah (Jalla Jalaluhu).

Turkish family detained in Qatar as Erdogan steps up crackdown on Gulenists abroad – Turkey Purge

The Qatari police have detained five members of a Turkish family who are linked to the Glen movement while the family was on their way to South Africa, yenihamle.com news website reported on Monday.

The detained individuals are members of the Bayndr family, businessman father Muhammed, mother Fadime and daughters Eslem, Kbra and Feyza.

The members of the Turkish family were detained while they were at a Qatari airport waiting for a connecting flight to South Africa.

This is not the first time a foreign country has detained or deported people over their links to the Glen movement as part of the Turkish governments witch-hunt against movement followers.

In May Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Georgia and Myanmar handed over academics, businessmen and school principals upon the Turkish governments request despite the fact that some of those victims already had refugee status with the UN.

Turkey survived a military coup attempt on July 15 that killed over 240 people and wounded more than a thousand others. After the putsch, the government along with President Recep Tayyip Erdoan accused the Glen movement of masterminding the attempt.

The movement and Fethullah Glen, a US-based Islamic scholar whose views inspired the movement, strongly denies any involvement.

President Erdoan earlier called on foreign governments to punish Glen followers in their own countries.

Identifying mindset vs. skillset problems – Greenhouse Management

Good training and the right questions can help you determine where employees are struggling and how to assist them.

Ninth grade Algebra was my nemesis. The principles just didnt make sense. Why was I adding letters? For an entire year, I told myself, Dont build a wall, Sherene. Dont put up a wall. I intuitively knew that if I did, I would never learn what I needed to pass the class.

There are still things that threaten to send me into a tailspin. Recently, trying to learn how to research SEO keywords and even a complicated card game made me want to shut down. Learning can be challenging, especially with deadlines and when others are watching.

What about you? Where do you struggle and when are you most tempted to shut down? What about your team? What is each member most prone to struggle with?

Feeling inadequate and stupid does little for self-esteem, yet the world is ever changing. Employees and businesses who dont come up to speed become obsolete and get left behind.

Adaptive leaders recognize when and where an employee is struggling and know its not enough to say, Its easy, all you have to do is . Wise leaders work to empower and equip individuals for peak performance. The following are tips to help you do that even more effectively.

1. Provide adequate training. When a skillset is missing, training is required to bring employees up to speed. For example, when you implement a new point of sale system, employees need instruction. Additionally, new hires always need trained on essential job functions. The clearer the expectations and instructions, the better.

Training is critical to your team and organizations success. Skimp on providing it, and youll encounter unnecessary and often costly mistakes, frustrations and turnovers. Leave it in the hands of someone who is impatient, too busy or not a good teacher, and youll experience similar results.

2. Recognize mindset problems. When skillset training doesnt work, dig deeper. There is almost always a mindset problem preventing an individual from coming up to speed. For example, depending on the age and experience of your employees, someone struggling with or avoiding technology is most likely shutting down because of a mindset problem.

Over several years, I tried to help a friend get up to speed with using the computer. Hed completed the training his workplace required and provided, but it never stuck. Although bright, hardworking and highly motivated to succeed, nothing worked. It was as though a fog encircled his brain. I finally asked, Whats your preferred learning style, hearing, doing or seeing? He quickly answered, Doing. Having watched him do what I was teaching him over and over to no avail, it finally dawned on me that he was experiencing a mindset rather than a skillset problem. Once we addressed his mindset, he quickly came up to speed.

What was the problem? Over the years hed repeatedly told himself, Im not good at computers, and I dont like computers. His brain believed him. I utilized a tapping technique to help him overcome his technology phobia and anxiety, and in less than three minutes, he was whizzing through what he had tried to master for years. Even more impressive, he hasnt needed my assistance since.

A coach, counselor or other helping professional may be needed to help employees identify and overcome what holds them back. If your organization provides such services, fantastic. If not, encourage a beleaguered employee to find a practitioner who can help them identify, overcome and succeed.

Once you know whats going on, it is far easier to problem solve and lead individuals and your team to long-term success. Who wouldnt want to work for such a great boss?
