Enugu All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in Enugu State, Chief Okechukwu Ezea, has described Professor Yemi Osinbajo as the best choice for a running mate to General Muhamadu Buhari (rtd) in the February 2015 presidential election.

In a statement in Enugu on Wednesday, Ezea expressed confidence that the combination of Buhari and Osinbajo as the presidential and vice presidential candidates of APC, would give the party the desired victory in next year's presidential election.

The Enugu APC governorship hopeful described the partnership between the former distinguished Army General and the Law Professor as a fusion of integrity and competence.

According to him, Buhari and Osinbajo, leading an APC national government from May 29, 2015, would reposition Nigeria and put it on the path of greatness again.

"I have known Professor Osinbajo for a long time. He was my lecturer in the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, Akoka where I obtained my LLB and Masters in Law."

"He is an intellectual of proven integrity, competence and character. He is a God-fearing man. He is honest, incorruptible, principled and morally upright. I want to commend General Buhari and our leaders in APC for choosing Professor Osinbajo as our Vice Presidential candidate," Ezea stated.

He enjoined all Nigerians, especially the people of Enugu State to vote for APC to bring about the desired positive change in Nigeria and end almost two decades of misrule by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which culminated in the reign of insecurity and poverty across the country.

Ezea said the people of Enugu State must embrace the wind of change blowing across the country now as PDP government has failed them in the past 16 years.

Unlike either of the other two political party leaders who spoke to The Telegram at the end of 2014, Liberal Leader Dwight Ball says he spends a lot of time preparing for the next election. Also unlike his opponents, Ball and his Liberals held a pretty steady, unremarkable pace throughout the year.

Liberal leader Dwight Ball says he's fine with being known for taking a low-key approach to the job.

The NDP had their troubles, and at times the PCs seemed to lurch from one disaster to the next, but Ball says it was a conscious effort for his party to stick to our own knitting and try not to react too much to whatever political storm happened to be underway on any given day.

That cautious approach has served the Liberals well they won five straight byelections this year, and they lead in the polls by a comfortable margin over the governing Tories.

But Balls approach has also led to consistent criticism that he and the Liberals dont really stand for much of anything.

Ball talked to The Telegram just a couple of days after Finance Minister Ross Wiseman revealed that the province is on track for a $916 million deficit.

Asked repeatedly what he thinks about the fiscal situation, Ball always ended up responding by talking about something else, or speaking in vague terms.

In a survey of the Craziest Politicians of 2014, GQ had difficulty locating any Democrats. Seventeen out of 20 on the list were Republicans, with the only liberals being Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Georgia Rep. Hank Johnson and Americas reigning nabob of nuttiness, Joe Biden.

In a note appended to the story, GQ defensively said it wasnt guilty of standard liberal-media bias, it just couldnt find any loony Democrats to speak of.

Called for a $26 minimum wage so that people . . . could afford to live in areas now where they cannot afford to live and you would increase diversify in certain communities where you dont have diversity anymore. You would have economic parity. Nah, $26 an hour isnt going to diversity Park Avenue. Try $260 an hour, thatll work!
